1. We raised about $3300 at our Jazz Dance on Friday.  If you see a Jazz Band or Music Council member, thank them... they worked hard for you!

1. Welcome to Semester Two! Let's get back into that routine of making music - please be dedicated to your rehearsals and groups.  We rely on everyone's participation to ensure success.
2. We've had to schedule a few extra rehearasals (all of which you know about) so please make sure you are scheduling for these in these important few weeks before the Spring Concert and Festival Season.
3. We have a couple of important fundraising events coming up.  Please do everything you can to assist with selling tickets to these events.  The funds are helping YOU. Chamber Concert and Jazz Soiree.  Do what you can to help us get people out to these events. Thanks!

1. Thanks to all for your dedication to the groups leading into exams - it would have been nicer to have EVERYONE out to all rehearsals, however.  Again, a reminder that in order to make progress, we need all band members attending all scheduled rehearsals.  It's completely counter-productive to have instruments and members missing during rehearsals.  Make every effort to stay on top of your studies so you're not letting your group down. 
2. We've had to schedule a few extra rehearasals (all of which you know about) so please make sure you are scheduling for these in these important few weeks before the Spring Concert and Festival Season.

1. Thanks for your continued dedication to bands this last week.  We were missing a few faces from rehearsals due to other school pressure this week - so please let me remind you that your attendance at rehearsals is very important to the success of the group.  Please try to keep everything progressing so that you can fulfill your comittments to the groups as well.  We need everyone attending, all the time, for our groups to progress as they should.
2. Good luck on exams!  Black Jazz will rehearse on Wednesdaym February 1st at 3:00pm.  We'll start back up next Thursday, February 2nd as usual.  Spring concert and festival are coming up faster than you think!  Please take some time to practise your parts over the exam break, please!

1. The 2nd payment for Ottawa was due two Fridays ago ($250). I didn't receive all of them.  You'll need to get this in ASAP. If this is going to be a problem, please see Mr. Moore asap.
2. All groups: with the Christmas concert behind us, we are now totally focussed on our repertoire for festival and public school tours.  Please be aware of what you are up against, and make a firm commitment to rehearsals and personal practise.  This is a very important time of year!
3. All musicians: You're encouraged to take your instrument and music home over the holidays and practise.  We'd like to hit the ground running after the break, and we need you to be on the ball for that to happen.  Do your part, please.

1. Thanks for a GREAT Christmas show!  Collectively, we raised between $1300-$1400 for the Huron County Christmas Bureau.  This is tremendous - and you should be really proud. 
2. The 2nd payment for Ottawa was due Friday ($250). I didn't receive all of them.  You'll need to get this in ASAP.

Announcements

1. Our annual Christmas Arts Night is happening THIS Wednesday night.  Call for performers is at 6:30pm and the show starts promptly at 7:00pm.  Please be ON TIME.  We notice when people walk in late to the concerts.  You're expected to be there on time at 6:30pm and be there to support all music students when on stage.  We're going to be using the same system as we developed at Pops concert for getting bands on and off stage.  We're looking to raise a lot of money for the Huron County Christmas Bureau - please promote the concert to your family and friends!
2. The 2nd payment for Ottawa is due Friday ($250).  Please make sure you're on time for this!
3. The (?) beside Thursday's Senior Band rehearsal signifies that we may or may not be having a rehearsal that morning.  It all depends on how we play on Wednesday.  If the group can afford a morning off, I'll let you know after the concert on Wednesday night.
